The venue is routinely described as being in the Denver metro area, and SHRM's own materials use that phrasing. The Gaylord Rockies is in Aurora, near Denver International Airport rather than in downtown Denver. That distinction matters for travel planning: attendees booking downtown hotels on the assumption of a short walk will find a substantial drive instead.
