The shape of the Firearms & Hunting show season

The firearms and hunting circuit runs on a small set of recurring shows rather than a dense weekly rotation, so knowing the anchors matters more than scanning a long list. SHOT Show in Las Vegas opens the year in January and is the industry's central trade-focused gathering. IWA OutdoorClassics follows in March, bringing the calendar to Nuremberg and giving the sector a European counterpart to the US shows. NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits rounds out the spring, with its next event set for Atlanta in April.

Season and geography

Stretched across January, March, and April, these three events give the calendar a clear winter-into-spring shape rather than a single peak month. Geography follows the same logic: Las Vegas hosts the January show, Nuremberg the March show, and Atlanta the April show, so the circuit alternates between a US hub and a European one rather than clustering in one region.

Choosing which show to attend

For exhibitors, the choice often comes down to market reach: a company selling primarily into North America will find SHOT Show and NRA Annual Meetings the more direct path to buyers, while a presence at IWA OutdoorClassics extends that reach into European and international distribution. Attendees new to the space can use the same split — start with whichever show sits closer to the markets or product categories they actually work in, then treat the other two as expansion opportunities once the first relationship is established. Because this is a small circuit, missing a single event's next date is less consequential than tracking the anchor series itself, since each one recurs on its own cycle even when a specific future date is not yet listed.
